Race Information
  • Date - Saturday, March 10, 2012

  • Race Start - 9:00 a.m.

  • Time Limit - Two hours

  • Location - Sheffield Recreation Center, 2901 E 19th Ave., Sheffield, AL, 35660-7467.
 
  The facility will be open before, during and after the race for family and friends. Shower facilities will be available after the race (bring your own soap and towel).
  • Driving Directions

  • Registration - Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.*

    *Due to logistics and transportation concerns the relay competition will be limited to 25 teams. There will be no race day registration for relay teams. All teams must be registered by 6:00 PM on March 9.

  • Early Packet Pick-up - Race packets for pre-registered entrants can be picked up Friday, March 9 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center.

  • T-Shirts - Each participant will receive a commemorative 9th Annual Huff N' Puff 15K run long sleeve T-shirt. Pre-Registered entrants will receive their shirts on the day of the race. Shirt sizes are not guranteed for those registering after Feb. 27.

  • Post-Race Party - Enjoy food and drink at the post race event in the gym. Race day entertainment is provided by the Locke Six Band. Don't miss the awards ceremony and door prizes!

 
  • Awards - Registration and awards will be held in the Recreation Center. The awards ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m.

    Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 overall male and female finishers (1st - $200, 2nd - $100, 3rd - $50). In addition, prize money in the amount of $150 will be provided to the top overall male and female in the master's division. Prize money provided by Spires & Associates and other sponsors.

    Note:(Students must have waiver signed by a parent before accepting cash/prizes. The acceptance of prize money may affect an athlete's amateur status.)


    Age Group Awards - top 3 male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Note: Overall winners and relay participants are not eligible for Age group awards.

    Relay Awards - Youth (17 and under), Open and Corporate. Top 3 male, female and mixed relay teams in each division will receive awards.

  • Fluid Stations & Course Support - Three fully staffed and equipped fluid stations will be on the course. American Red Cross volunteers will be stationed at each turn on the course. Mile markers will be clearly displayed and split times will be given at each mile. Restroom facilities will also be provided on the course between miles 4 and 5.
